JONESBORO, Ark. -- A Dunklin County native charged with robbing a Bancorp South bank branch in Jonesboro is set to make his second appearance in court Dec. 28.
Jonesboro police say Justin Allen Miller, 30, was interviewed by investigators and has confessed to robbing the bank on Parker Road last week.
Miller walked into the business wearing a camouflage mask and jacket armed with a semiautomatic handgun. The events were caught on tape by security cameras. Miller then ordered the tellers into the vault area and instructed them to put money into a gray gym bag.
Miller then locked the employees inside the safe before leaving the scene in what police described as a dark maroon Chevy Trailblazer with tinted windows.
In addition to the armed robbery charges, Miller is also charged with arson after admitting that he had previously set fire to his 2008 Jeep Wrangler in Dexter, Mo., on Oct. 6 for the insurance money.
Miller was originally arrested following a routine traffic stop by Jonesboro police. During the search of his vehicle and residence, officers found some of the money stolen from the bank, in addition to the gun and clothing allegedly used in the robbery.
Miller was a car salesman at Cavenaugh Ford in Jonesboro and resided in the Jonesboro area. He is originally from Hornersville, Mo., and a 1998 graduate of Senath-Hornersville High School.
The amount of money stolen from the bank is listed in court documents as undisclosed but estimated to be more than $2,500.
Miller's bond has been set at $500,000.
