Twenty-six local students have been honored through the Duke University Talent Identification Program. Seventh-graders recognized through the program earned scores on SAT or ACT college entrance exams that many graduating seniors would envy.
TIP sponsors both a grand recognition ceremony for the highest scoring students and state recognition ceremonies. Students invited to the grand recognition ceremony earned scores higher than 70 percent of college-bound high school seniors. Those qualifying for state recognition scored as well or better than the average college-bound high school senior.
