MEMPHIS, Tenn. Ducks Unlimited is moving its national headquarters to Memphis.

Ground was broken recently for the new 100,000 square foot headquarters building which will house DU's administrative, conservation, communications, fund-raising programs and other support operations. Construction will start later this summer.

The new headquarters building will be located on a 25-acre site at the Agricenter on Shelby Farms, a 4,200-acre multi-use area owned by Shelby County.

Ducks Unlimited plans to relocate its headquarters staff in late summer of 1992. Now in its 54th year, the non-profit conservation organization has been coordinating all phases of its operation from the Chicago suburban since 1964. Prior to then, DU was headquartered in New York. The organization has regional offices in Sacramento, Calif., Jackson, Miss., and Bismarck, N.D.

Current DU president is John E. Walker, of Galveston, Tex.
