An undercover drug bust at Capaha Park on Tuesday led to a car chase through Cape Girardeau that ended with police officers arresting two men.

According to police department spokesman Sgt. Jason Selzer, Jimmy Maglone began leading officers on the chase between 9 and 10 a.m. after officers suspected Maglone had narcotics in his vehicle, a white Dodge truck.

Maglone allegedly damaged a street sign on Perry Avenue and then damaged a drive-through window at Ken's Cape Cleaners at 1704 Broadway, Selzer said.

Maglone allegedly continued to flee and ended up on Bloomfield Street, where he struck a parked car, which hit another parked vehicle.

"No one was injured in this," Selzer said.

Maglone exited his truck near Bloomfield and Hanover streets and fled into a home on Pacific Street where police arrested him, Selzer said.

A second arrest was made when the suspect's brother, John Maglone, arrived at the scene allegedly carrying narcotics. John Maglone showed up because the Dodge truck his brother was driving belonged to him, Selzer said.

"Both of them are in custody, and we're applying for charges," Selzer said.

Charges had not been filed by 5 p.m. Tuesday.
