Norman Cooper and Erwin Fritsche, truck drivers from Wetterau, Inc. Scott City Division, captured first-place honors in two divisions at the annual Missouri State Truck Driving Championships held at Kansas City recently.

Cooper placed first in 4-axle van, and was the selected `Grand Champion' truck driver from 85 entries.

Fritsche placed first in the flatbed class.

Other Scott City drivers placing in the competition included: Richard Pigloski, second in 5-axle tank class; and Don Weltermann, third in 3-axle van class.

The four-man Scott City team received the Missouri State Team Trophy.

Cooper and Fritsche will advance to the National Truck Driving competition in Minneapolis, which is sponsored by the American Trucking Association. The state competition was sponsored by the Missouri Motors Carriers Association.
