A Perryville, Mo., woman's good deed ended with a crash Sunday in Ste. Genevieve County, Mo., the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
Jennifer L. Rednour, 29, had pulled to the right side of Interstate 55 near mile marker 144 to help a stranded motorist, the patrol reported.
She was pulling back onto the highway in a southbound 2006 Chevrolet Suburban when she attempted to make a U-turn across two lanes of traffic and was struck by a 2011 GMC Terrain that was also headed south, the patrol reported.
Rednour and two passengers, Michael A. Rednour, 26, and Thomas E. White Jr., 21, both of Perryville, received minor injuries and were taken by ambulance to Perry County Memorial Hospital, the patrol reported.
The highway patrol reported no injuries to the driver of the Terrain, 19-year-old Stephanie K. Gee of Dexter, Mo.
Both vehicles were totaled in the crash, which occurred shortly after 9:30 p.m. Sunday, the patrol reported.
According to the report, Rednour did not have insurance; neither she nor her passengers were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.
