ALTENBURG -- Dip & Deli Pizzeria is expanding into the "The Port" building. The new establishment will be called "Saxons Landing."Owners Vern and Betty Dreyer have seen Dip & Deli outgrow their current building. They were anticipating opening the Landing for business Friday and will hold a grand opening Dec. 4. The public is invited.
The Landing will feature a family atmosphere, with home-cooked meals on weekend evenings. The Dip & Deli "fresh made" pizza will also be available. a play room for smaller children will be provided.
Television sports events will feature food and drink specials and a happy hour, 4-6 p.m. on weekdays. The usual bar and grill menu will always be available. The juke box will feature music from the 1950s through the 1990s, creating a quiet, relaxing atmosphere.
The building will receive a face lift and will feature Saxon immigration memorabilia.
A special menu will be featured on new Year's Eve. Only a few tables are left, so reservations must be made soon. Among the Landing specialties will be the "Alten-Buger."
