ADVANCE -- Drenna Burton, kindergarten teacher at Delta R-5 Elementary School, has been named for her second time to "Who's Who In American Education."

The publication recognizes professionals nationwide who are committed to excellence in education at all levels. It is a directory of America's top educators.

Burton is a graduate of Lambuth College in Jackson, Tenn., where she received a degree in elementary education. She earned her master's degree from Southeast Missouri State University.

Burton has taught kindergarten and first grade in the Bell City R-2 and Delta R-5 school systems. She holds a Missouri lifetime teacher certificate for kindergarten through ninth grade.

In addition to memberships in various education associations, Burton has been a member of the Adjunct Faculty College of Education at Southeast Missouri State University. She served for several years as a member of the advisory board of Parents as First Teachers.

She was listed in "Who's Who Among America' Teachers" in 1990. Nomination for the listing must come from a high-achieving high school student who was currently listed in "Who's Who Among American High School Students" or on the National Dean's List.

Burton lives near Advance with her husband, Donald, and her children, Jennifer and Heather O'Reilly.
