The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on Friday filed the St. Johns Bayou and New Madrid Floodway Project draft environmental impact statement with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, according to a news release.

  • Mitchell Memorial Library in East Prairie, Mo.
  • Riverside Regional Library in Benton, Mo.

The draft also is available at mvm.usace.army.mil/Missions/Projects/StJohnsBayouandNewMadridFloodwayProject.aspx.

A 45-day public comment period also began Friday. Two public meetings will be held during this time in East Prairie, Mo., and Cairo, Ill. to take comments and address community concerns.
