"The State's Attorney's office will continue to prosecute those who would prey upon our business community as well as our elderly population with theft and deceptive practices," Union County State's Attorney Allen W. James said in the release.

In addition to probation and fine, Crawford was ordered to pay $1,400 in restitution to Davis Heating and Cooling of Cobden, Ill., and $832.05 to Southern Rentals of Anna for deceptive practices, the release stated.

Restitution hearings for an Anna family who fell victim to Crawford's home repair fraud and for the Southern Rentals owner, the theft victim, were forthcoming.
