DOWNTOWN MERCHANTS INSTALL NEW PRESIDENT

Chuck McGinty of C.P. McGinty Jewelers Inc. was installed as president at the Downtown Merchants Association at its regular meeting last week. Other officers of the group will be installed later.

The association approved borrowing money for construction of the pavilion on the south parking lot. The project, which will cost up to $45,000, will be built by Kiefner Brothers Inc. It should be com-pleted by the end of July. Vision 2000 donated funds to erect a flagpole on the north side of the pavilion. McGinty said the association is discussing a fund raiser that would be held at the pavilion.
