Want to fill in your collection of downtown Cape Girardeau Christmas ornaments?
All five of the ornaments, from 1996 through 2000, are available at Old Town Cape at 111 Independence.
The 1997, 1998 and 1999 ornaments are original.
The Downtown Merchants Association donated its stock of the old ornaments to Old Town Cape.
"Due to the timing of the transfer, a new ornament will not be released this year," said Catherine Dunlap. "However, we will be re-issuing the St. Vincent's Church ornament. Next year, we will design a new ornament."
The ornaments and year issued include: The Courthouse and Town Clock, 1996; The Old River Bridge, 1997; Academic Hall, Southeast Missouri State University, 1998; Millennium, Fireworks over Old Town Cape, 1999; Old St. Vincent de Paul Church, 2000; and the re-issue of St. Vincent's Church, 2001.
The ornaments are available from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, and from 9-11 a.m. Wednesday.
Starting Nov. 24, Old Town Cape volunteers will be in the office Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The custom ornaments were suggested a few years ago because so many people look for something about Cape Girardeau.
Proceeds from the ornament sales will help fund Old Town Cape projects.
