DORENA, Mo. -- The Dorena-Hickman Ferry will suspend operations Thursday morning for maintenance and repair work, according to a news release from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.

Capt. Ed Floyd said he is optimistic the ferry will be back in service by about 1 p.m. that day, the release said.

The Dorena-Hickman Ferry connects Kentucky Highway 1354 at Hickman, Ky., with Route A and Highway 77 near Dorena. The ferry operates from the Hickman Landing with regular river crossings during daylight hours.
