Rising water levels on the Mississippi River have allowed the Dorena-Hickman ferry to resume normal winter operating hours and transport commercial trucks.

Because of widespread rainfall over the weekend, the water will be high enough for the ferry to maintain normal winter operations for at least a week, according to a news release from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.

The Dorena-Hickman Ferry connects Kentucky State Highway 1354 at Hickman with Missouri Route A and Highway 77 near Dorena, Mo. For more information, visit dorena-hickmanferryboat.com.
