HICKMAN, Ky. — The Dorena-Hickman Ferry in western Kentucky closed Saturday for dredging operations and will be evaluated on a day-by-day basis.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet said the dredge is expected to be in the harbor for a couple of weeks. The ferry captain, Jeremy Newsom, said he hopes the ferry will only be closed a couple of days as the dredge works near the mouth of the harbor.
