DONIPHAN, Mo. -- Dr. Larry W. Jackson, president of the Missouri Dental Board, has announced his candidacy for state representative of the 153rd District.
Jackson, a Democrat, said he is already listening to the people as he travels the district.
"It seems as though everywhere I go in the district people bring up the methamphetamine problem," he said, and as a representative, he would support police to bring the meth problem under control.
Jackson was born and reared in Ripley County and lives his wife, Carmen, in Doniphan where he has practiced dentistry since leaving the Navy in 1981.
Jackson, who is serving a second term as president of the dental board, was appointed by Gov. Mel Carnahan in 1997.
