An Illinois nurse was sentenced to 36 months probation after admitting to fraudulently acquiring prescription drugs.
Donna S. Henson, 56, of Dongola, Ill., pleaded guilty Friday to two counts of aggravated fraud and two counts of forgery, according to a news release from the Union County state's attorney's office.
Henson, a registered nurse, stole prescription pads from her employer at HealthSouth Surgery Center of Southern Illinois in Marion, Ill.
She forged a doctor's name on the pads to obtain medication, which were then billed to her husband's insurance carrier, the release stated.
In addition to the probation, Henson was also fined $4,000 for the scheme, which ran from between September 2002 and June 2005.
