COLUMBIA, Mo. -- Firefighters in Boone County believe a heat lamp in a doghouse caused a massive blaze that heavily damaged a home. The fire broke out around 10:30 a.m. Thursday. A spokesman for the Boone County Fire Protection District said the doghouse was on the front porch, and flames traveled up to the eaves and into the attic.
Ten fire trucks responded. Officials said crews were hindered in fighting the blaze because the roof collapsed.
