DOG TRAINER WILL PRESENT PROGRAM AT CITY LIBRARY MAY 24

Carla Karr, a dog trainer, will present a program on dog-proofing children and children-proofing dogs May 24 at 7 p.m. at the Cape Girardeau Public Library.

Karr will demonstrate proper ways to approach and interact with unfamiliar dogs and discuss how to prepare both dogs and children for safe encounters with each other.

She has been teaching dog obedience classes through kennel clubs for four years and trains her own dogs for competition. She has participated in dog training seminars at Cornell University on solving canine behavior problems.
