Despite an incident last weekend when an allegedly drunken driver crashed into the building, a ribbon-cutting ceremony for a new exhibit at the Discovery Playhouse on will still take place on Friday.

The museum staff is preparing for the ceremony and cleaning up from the incident which involved a pickup truck jumping the curb and breaking the front windows of the building.

The ceremony, which is set to take place at 11:30 a.m., will celebrate the opening of the "Grandma Ruth's Farm" exhibit. This interactive exhibit will allow children to explore the farm, learn where their food comes from and sell their bounty in the grocery store. The exhibit is sponsored by Dori Lage in memory of her mother Ruth.

The museum staff has been working with its board of directors to plan the "street-scaping" of the Broadway corridor. These plans include natural barriers and elements to slow down traffic.
