Homeowners and businesses within declared Missouri disaster counties can find out how to apply for Small Business Administration disaster loans at a workshop in Festus.
The workshop will take place today from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Festus Community Center (Armory building) at 215 North Mill Street.
The workshop will resume Monday and will continue Mondays through Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. until further notice.
The SBA offers loans of up to $200,000 to repair damaged homes and up to $40,000 to replace personal belongings including automobiles.
Loans of up to $1.5 million are available to businesses and nonprofit organizations to repair business premises and property. Economic injury disaster loans are also available to provide working capital to small businesses to help them pay bills and meet operating expenses that normally would have been met.
The deadline for filing physical damage disaster loan applications is Aug. 11. To apply for federal assistance, including SBA disaster loans and business loans, call the federal teleregistration line at 1-800-462-9029 or visit the SBA workshop at the Festus Community Center.
