Officials from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, State Emergency Management Agency and the Small Business Administration will be in Cape Girardeau Thursday and Friday.
The Mobile Disaster Recovery Assistance Center will be at Arena Park Thursday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Citizens and small business owners who have called the toll-free FEMA registration number will learn the status of their application.
"This mobile center brings a personal touch to the disaster recovery process," Said Warren Pugh Jr., FEMA federal coordinating officer. "We encourage people who have suffered losses to take advantage of the expertise that will be on board."
Disaster Assistance Recovery centers have been located throughout the state during previous disaster situations. However, having a federal and state assistance mobile center is not as common. The mobile unit will be traveling to several of the counties deemed disaster areas in June by President Clinton.
Anyone who has suffered damage from the severe storms, hail, tornadoes and flooding from May 13 through June 23 should call the toll-free registration number : 1-800-462-9029. For those who are hearing or speech impaired the number is 1-800-462-7585.
