Snider was no stranger to St. Louis Children's Hospital Child Life Development Center. She'd spent time there since before she could walk. As the recipient of a 2003 double lung transplant, she received care and support there that gave her hope.

Colin Michael Shaw, who is a St. Louis artist and Snider's cousin, originally created a portrait of Snider for her dad. Commemorative items bearing her portrait now are available. All proceeds will be donated to the Child Life Development Center at St. Louis Children's Hospital so that patients there can continue to receive books, movies and stuffed animals to lift their spirits. Items are available at www.shawart.com.
