Amanda Taylor of Dexter recently earned a college scholarship for winning the slogan contest of the Missouri First Vote Foundation.
Taylor entered the contest last spring and won a $250 scholarship. She is now a student at Southern Methodist University in Dallas.
The slogan, "Take a stand...make a difference...vote," will be used for promotional materials during the 1996 First Vote program at Missouri high schools. The program is designed to promote voter registration of high school seniors and is administered by the secretary of state's office.
