SCOTT CITY -- The first meeting of Scott City's Desert Storm Support Group will be tonight at 7 p.m. in the council chambers at City Hall.

Barbara McKeon, a nurse counselor at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, will speak about the benefits a support group can offer people who have loved ones in the gulf.

"Some people think a support group is just for mental health," McKeon said. "But it's really a chance to get together with others who share the same concerns."

The meeting is open to the public, especially those who have friends or family serving in the gulf war, said Nona Walls, a member of the support group.
