EAST PRAIRIE, Mo. -- The cause of a blaze that destroyed a building at Delta Growers, Highway 105, is still under investigation. A representative from the state fire marshal's office is expected on the scene to investigate the incident. The fire was reported at 10:53 p.m. Tuesday. When East Prairie firefighters arrived, the metal building, containing mostly farm chemicals and tires, was reportedly fully-involved. Mutual aid was summoned from the fire departments at Charleston, Anniston, Bertrand, Sikeston, rural Scott County and Matthews in fighting the blaze, which took about four hours to extinguish. No injuries were reported in the blaze.
