Less than a week remains for residents and business owners whose property sustained damage during the severe storms, tornadoes and flooding of May 8 to 16 to apply for Federal Emergency Management Agency loan assistance.
Loan applications are due by Tuesday to the U.S. Small Business Administration for disaster-related losses.
Among the 28 counties eligible for assistance are Bollinger and Cape Girardeau. Nineteen people in Cape Girardeau County and 140 in Bollinger County had applied for assistance as of Friday.
