Date set for Jackson man's jury trial

A jury trial has been set for a Jackson man charged with sexual misconduct with a child. Charges against Nicholas Barna, 52, of Jackson were filed in November in Cole County. According to the grand jury indictment, dated Nov. 27, the charges stem from an incident in which Barna allegedly exposed himself to someone he "believed to be a child under 14 years of age." The incident allegedly occurred between Dec. 18, 2006, and July 30, 2007, in Cole County, the indictment said. A jury trial was set for 9 a.m. March 11 in Cole County before Judge Richard Callahan.
