Dad working hard to pay bills
Mom had to leave her job because she couldn't get a baby sitter. Dad works all the time, but the family is behind on paying bills this year and there will be no Christmas for the children. They would appreciate a little help from Toybox. The 5-year-old likes balls, cars, trucks and Spider-Man items. The 2-year-old likes dolls, cooking toys and play food, Elmo, and anything related to princesses. The toddler could use blocks and Fisher Price toys. Like the 1,200 children ages 1-12, being served locally by Toybox this year you can help make a meaningful Christmas! Please bring new toys to any of the Toybox locations, including the Southeast Missourian. Or you can make a monetary donation to Toybox, P.O. Box 4, Cape Girardeau, Mo., 63702. The blessings you bestow, return to you in kind. For all of our needy Toybox families here are some popular requests: Board games, race cars, trucks, dolls, learning toys, puzzles, books, Hannah Montana, Spiderman, balls, drawing materials, Dora Explorer, Indiana Jones, High School Musical items.
Mr. and Mrs. C are both disabled
Mrs. C has problems with her back and periods of dizziness and Mr. C has vision problems. They live with a small dog, which they love. They live on Mr. C's Social Security income in their home and budget to make ends meet. One thing they can't afford but would help them greatly is a small recliner, preferably in burgundy or beige. Other items include king size pillows and sheets, a toaster, small bags of small-kibble dog food, toys and a sweater for their dog. This would make their Christmas truly bright! You can help Mr. and Mrs. C and other needy elderly people in our area, by buying these needed items, including personal grooming and cleaning supplies, grocery gift cards and delivering to The Southeast Missourian. Or make a monetary donation to Christmas for the Elderly, P.O. Box 4, Cape Girardeau, Mo. 63702. All elderly served are living independently on limited incomes with few, if any family members. They would appreciate your sharing spirit.
