CVB OFFICE WILL MOVE TO BROADWAY

The Cape Girardeau Convention and Visitors Bureau will relocate to rented quarters in the former ERA Cape Realty building at 2121 Broadway.

The bureau has been housed in rented space in an office building on Mount Auburn Road.

CVB officials said the move had to be made because owners of the Mount Auburn office building will rent the space to a business.

The city will rent the Broadway site for one year, with the option to continue renting after that in six-month increments. The City Council approved new lease Tuesday night.

The CVB currently rents 1,378 square feet of space at a cost of about $1,000 a month and the city's Public Awareness office pays $90 a month. Both charges include utilities.

The new office has 2,600 square feet and will rent for $1,300 a month plus utilities estimated at $250 a month, said Mary Miller, CVB director. Miller said the cost will be divided between the CVB and the Public Awareness office.
