NEOSHO, Mo. (AP) -- Crowder College in Neosho has received more than $3.5 million in federal stimulus money that it will use to expand education programs in health care.
The Joplin Globe reports that the U.S. Department of Labor told Crowder last week that it would receive more than $3.57 million in stimulus money over the next three years.
The college says the money help expand programs for nurses, emergency medical technicians, substance abuse and addiction counselors, and pharmacy technicians. Crowder also plans to begin programs to train occupational and physical therapy assistants.
The college says most of the money will go for hiring personnel, including more instructors. Some equipment also will be purchased.
