People planning to run cross country this fall or in the future should attend a cross country camp.
The camp will run from 7 to 8:30 p.m., beginning Monday and through Friday, at the Jackson City Park pavilion by the upper tennis courts.
Another cross country camp will be held July 16 through 20 at the same time and site.
The camps are free and available for boys and girls in grades six through 12.

Some of the topics covered at camp are proper stretching, flexibility and warm-up, sports psychology, injury prevention, nutrition, goal-setting, weight training, running mechanics, cross country training and running games, water drills, and cross training exercises.
It is the fourth week of weight room hours for cross country. The summer "open gym" and weight room hours for cross country runners are: Monday, Wednesday and Friday, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Run at 7, weights follow.
