NEW MADRID, Mo. (AP) -- Federal investigators will be looking into an accident involving two crop-dusting planes in Southeast Missouri.

New Madrid County Sheriff Terry Stevens says the planes clipped wings in the air before going down near Interstate 55 around 6:30 p.m. Monday.

The sheriff told KFVS-TV one of the planes crashed. The other was able to land at a small, nearby airport. One pilot was flown to a hospital, but the other was not seriously hurt.

The Missouri Department of Natural Resources and the Federal Aviation Administration will help investigate the incident.
