Four people were injured and another killed in separate accidents Friday afternoon in Southeast Missouri.
Herbert Davidson, 59, of Manila, Ark., was killed in a two-vehicle accident along Highway 412 in Dunklin County.
The accident occurred at 2:35 p.m. three miles west of Cardwell. Davidson failed to yield to a vehicle driven by Timothy Jameson, 39, of Hornersville, according to reports by the Missouri State Highway Patrol. He was pronounced dead on arrival at Methodist Hospital in Paragould, Ark.
Four people were seriously injured in a two-vehicle accident near Jackson Friday afternoon. The accident occurred at 2:20 p.m. five miles west of Jackson along Highway 72..
Glenn Doyle, 21, and Janice Graff, 36, both of Oak Ridge, were injured when they were struck head-on by a vehicle attempting to pass another vehicle.
Heather Menteer, 18, and Shannon Lee, 18, both of Fredericktown, also were injured in the accident. All four were taken to St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. Lee was treated and released; the others were admitted.
