PERRY COUNTY, Mo. - A Marble Hill, Mo., teenage boy was seriously injured and two others sustained moderate injuries in a Sunday evening crash near US 61.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Mitchell R. Woods, 17, was driving his 1996 Jeep Cherokee around 7:20 p.m. eastbound on Route NN. The Cherokee veered off the right side of the roadway and struck a utility pole.

Woods was flown by air evac to St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, where he was treated for serious injuries.

Two passengers in the vehicles - a 15 and 16-year-old from Marble Hill - were transported by ambulance to Perry County Memorial Hospital in Perryville for treatment of moderate injuries.

All three boys were not wearing their seat belts at the time of the accident, the highway patrol said.
