"Double Trouble" is good for a $1,000 gift certificate far fishing tackle at Don's Bait and Tackle here.
"Divin` Dave" will get you a $1,000 gift certificate at Homestead Distributing Co., Sikeston.
These are just three of more than 1,000 prize crappie which will be placed in Lake Wappapello for a two-month "Crappiethon," to be held here starting March 30. The final day of the tournament will be May 28.
A total of 1,066 tagged crappie will be placed in the lake.
If you latch on to "Tangle-Free Tom," or "Country Mile Cal," you're talking $2,500 in prizes.
Anglers must obtain a "Bounty Hunter's Badge," for the Crappiethon at several businesses around the lake, or at Chonia Landing, Holiday Landing, State Park Marina, Sundowner Marina, Buddy's One Stop, or Feed/Mkt. Bait & Tackle. The bounty badge fee is $6.
