About 65 people attended the Crader reunion held recently at Cape County Park in Cape Girardeau. An auction and donations raised about $320 for the Crader Cemetery Fund.
At the business meeting, Ron Stroder was elected for a 2-year term on the cemetery governing board. Maintenance and privatization of the cemetery were discussed. Current board members include chairman Harold Crader, treasurer David Hurley, secretary Joyce Partain, Dennis Hurst Sr. and Ron Stroder.
The oldest Crader descendant attending was Ruby Crader Statler of Cape Girardeau. The youngest were 2-year-old twins, Kyler and Kaleb Ziegler, grandchildren of Roger and Glenda Smith of Scott City. Traveling the farthest were Debi and Stacy Gartin of West Virginia and Bill and Roma Swindle of Texas.
Attendees came from the Cape/Jackson area, outlying areas in Missouri and other states including West Virginia, Arizona, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas and Indiana.
