Two men charged with multiple counts of burglary and theft appeared on Monday at the Cape Girardeau County courthouse in Jackson. Garrett K. Williams, 19, of Chaffee, Mo., pleaded guilty to two felony counts of theft, while four other burglary and theft counts were dismissed. Circuit Judge William Syler sentenced him to five years probation on a suspended imposition sentence. Cape Girardeau County prosecutors charged Williams on Oct. 27 with three felony counts each of burglary and theft. On count two, Williams confessed to stealing various tools from a garage at 1403 County Road 254, and on count four, he confessed to stealing nearly $700 in cigarettes and about $300 in change from Lancaster Grocery store on Route P. Aaron L. Jenkins, 24, of 903 Ranney St., was scheduled for a case review on Dec. 27. He faces two felony counts each of burglary and theft.
A Perryville, Mo., man was sentenced on Monday to four years in prison for incest. Richard E. Haycraft II, 36, of 116 S. Main St., Perryville, appeared before Circuit Judge William Syler on a change of venue from Perry County. Perry County prosecutors charged Haycraft on Jan. 25 with statutory rape, two counts of attempted statutory rape, incest, child molestation and invasion of privacy. Haycraft requested a change of venue on March 25 before Syler, and he pleaded guilty on Sept. 6 to incest and invasion of privacy.
