Hearing continued for man arrested in sex sting
MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- An Illinois man accused of arranging to have sex with a 15-year-old girl as part of a Bollinger County online sex sting had his Bollinger County court appearance continued Friday. William J. Heyduck is charged with attempted statutory sodomy. County sheriff's dispatcher Brandy Otte, 21, testified during a preliminary hearing for Heyduck that she posed as a 15-year-old girl on the Internet as part of a undercover sting to catch sexual predators. When Heyduck asked Otte if she was 15 years old, she said yes. "It didn't seem to be an issue," Otte said. Heyduck drove about three hours to meet Otte at a McDonald's in Marble Hill and was arrested when he arrived. Circuit Judge Benjamin F. Lewis continued Heyduck's hearing until 9 a.m. Jan. 11.
Arraignment continued in Advance stabbing case
MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- A Zalma, Mo., man accused of stabbing an Advance, Mo., man in the neck and chest had his arraignment continued Friday in Bollinger County Circuit Court. Ralph R. Carnahan, 18, appeared before Circuit Judge Benjamin A. Lewis charged with first-degree felony assault. Carnahan is accused of stabbing Jiles Markham, 44, of rural Advance, Mo., several times in the chest while on a rural Bollinger County Road. The victim suffered several lacerations to his body, including chest, arms, face and shoulders. Carnahan will appear before Circuit Judge William Syler Jan. 5.
