KENNETT, Mo. -- A Malden doctor charged with two sexual abuse felonies for allegedly inappropriately touching two female patients was granted a continuance and will appear in court Tuesday.
According to Dunklin County Prosecuting Attorney Stephen P. Sokoloff's office, Dr. Martin McDonald, represented by attorney Jasper N. Edmundson of Poplar Bluff, Mo., was scheduled to appear in court Nov. 30 but asked that the date be reset.
The physician, who formerly practiced in Poplar Bluff and Doniphan, Mo., was previously released on a $25,000 bond after being picked up for what authorities described as unrequested breast exams.
McDonald, a family practice physician at the Pehlman Family Clinic, was originally arrested after declining to be interviewed by deputies with the Dunklin County Sheriff's Department.
He was later was booked at the Malden City Jail and was later transferred to the Dunklin County Jail before posting bond.
A resident of Wappapello, Mo., McDonald was charged after the sheriff's department received complaints from three women.
The complaint on file with the court alleges that on Aug. 24 and Sept. 3, McDonald grabbing each woman's breast.
