COUPLE KILLED IN I-55 ACCIDENT

SCOTT CITY -- An Alabama couple were killed Wednesday afternoon in a single-vehicle accident on Interstate 55 south of Scott City.

The Missouri Highway Patrol reported that Annie Innabnit, 58, and her husband, Henry Innabnit, 60, both of Chunchula, Ala., were killed when the pickup she was driving left the roadway and struck a culvert and embankment.

The accident occurred at 12:37 p.m. in the southbound lane of I-55 about 3 miles south of Scott City, the patrol said.

Both victims pronounced dead at the scene by the Scott County coroner's office were wearing seat belts, the patrol said.
