FRUITLAND -- A Cape Girardeau couple was injured Saturday in a two-car accident near Fruitland.
The Missouri Highway Patrol said Martha Barnhart, 37, of Cape Girardeau, was driving north on an outer road one mile north of Fruitland when she attempted to make a left turn and drove into the path of a car driven by David Fisher, 18, of Jackson.
Barnhart and a passenger, Caroll Barnhart, 48, of Cape Girardeau, were injured and taken to St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, the patrol said. A hospital spokesperson said the two were treated and released.
Jackson received minor injuries but declined treatment, the patrol said. The accident occurred at 11:30 a.m.
