SIKESTON, Mo. -- For a Sikeston couple, a blue light special wasn't worth the wait.
The two persons were arrested after a four-month stealing spree from K-Mart that resulted in over 900 items taken from the store at 1110 S. Main St., Sikeston police said.
The items stolen, including jewelry, clothing and household goods, are worth an estimated $50,000. Although goods of a higher total value have been stolen before, police said the number of items from one store is probably the highest they have seen.
The couple is being held in Mississippi County Jail, under the authority of the Immigration and Naturalization Service. Their names are being witheld pending charges.
