Couple accused of selling pot to officer

BENTON, Mo. -- A Benton couple is in jail after an arrest in connection with an undercover drug operation last year, the Scott County Sheriff's Department reported Wednesday.

Jennifer Carpenter, 19, and Steven Patrick, 24, both of rural Benton, face one count each of felony distribution of a controlled substance, according to a news release from Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter.

Carpenter and Patrick are accused of selling an ounce of marijuana to an undercover officer in September, the release stated.

Carpenter and Patrick are in the Scott County Jail, with bond set at $25,000 for each defendant, the release stated.
