County to take postal service bids

During the Cape Girardeau County Commission meeting Thursday, commissioners Jay Purcell and Paul Koeper approved the motion for the solicitation of bids on the county's postal service. Presiding Commissioner Gerald Jones was absent.

Commercial Mail Services had been handling most mailing services for the office of the treasurer, assessor and collector until it went out of business in August.

In other business, the commission approved a motion by county Auditor David Ludwig to seek bids for a certified public accountant to conduct its annual audit.
