Editor's note: An FYI in Sunday's Good Times listed the wrong day for the Jackson Veterans Day parade and activities. The festivities will be today.
The American Legion Post 158 of Jackson and the Jackson VFW Post 10495 will host the annual Veterans Day parade at 4 p.m. today. Any group that would like to participate in the parade needs to be in front of the old Jackson High School building at 3:30 p.m. for lineup.
The parade route will be uptown to the courthouse, left on West Main Street to Oklahoma Street and returning to the Jackson High School campus. This year's parade marshal will be Penny Kurre.
After the parade there will be a patriotic ceremony at the New McKendree United Methodist Church in Jackson. The featured speaker for the program will be Dennis Woeltje. After the ceremony, the church will host a dinner honoring all veterans and their families. The public is invited to attend.
