While still a little way from reaching its overall fundraising goal, the Salvation Army met a shorter-term goal Saturday.
Contributions Saturday to red kettles up to $8,000 citywide were to be matched by a local anonymous donor.
"We met the match," Salvation Army Capt. Ronnie Amick said.
This year's red-kettle campaign goal is $327,000.
"We were only at about 70 percent" of the overall goal, Amick said.
Kettles will be out until 4 p.m. today, Amick said. The campaign runs until January.
