SIKESTON, Mo. -- The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission has awarded a contract to replace two westbound U.S. 60 bridges in Stoddard and New Madrid counties.

The first bridge is over railroad tracks west of U.S. 61 in Sikeston. The second bridge is over railroad tracks east of Highway 25 near Dexter, Mo.

The $1,682,758 contract was awarded to Joe's Bridge & Grading Inc. of Poplar Bluff, Mo. The project, which is expected to begin in the spring, will include replacing the decks on both bridges. Traffic will be diverted to the eastbound lanes with a 16-foot width restriction.
