CAPE GIRARDEAU -- The Southeast Missourian Newspaper captured two awards in Suburban Newspaper of America's 1991 SNA Advertising & Promotion Contest recently.
The local newspaper won a first and a third in Best Signature Page or Signature Section.
The first place d was created by the newspaper's Creative Services department.
"It was a double-page spread," said Teresa Hampton, art director of the department. "The theme of the advertising pages was Southeast Missouri State University Academic Homecoming."
The two pages contained cartoon people developed by the university, and across the bottom of the page was a schedule of events for Homecoming weekend.
The third-place ad was a single signature page, concerning the grand opening of Gipson Recovering Center.
