The Community Counseling Center Foundation has invited local artists to submit paintings or drawings for a contest to be used as an appreciation gift to the foundation's best donors for this year's membership drive.
Entries should depict scenes from the counseling center's five-county service area of Cape Girardeau, Bollinger, Madison, Perry and Ste. Genevieve counties.
Pictures will displayed at Westfield Shoppingtown West Park Mall the week of July 15.
Members of the Southeast Missouri Council on the Arts will judge the entries, and the winning entry will be reproduced by Community Counseling Center Foundation as a limited edition print and given to investor program-level donors as an appreciation gift.
Artists will be asked to autograph and number each print and will receive 50 prints for their own use.
The contest is open to local artists, and submissions and queries should be made to Paula Hoffman at the Community Counseling Center by July 2.
Artists can also call the center at 334-1100.
Chairman for the art contest and membership drive is Tim Schwent, a certified public accountant.
